The Brief 

Our client, a global manufacturer based in Plymouth were looking to hire an experienced People Partner in what was a newly created role for the business.

The role was to be specifically focused on leading the design and implementation of a new people strategy to work in conjunction with the business strategy. This was essential to our client in order to support a new missions and values initiative in order to drive their business forward.

The Process

It was outlined at the beginning that it would be imperative that the candidate was a culture fit, regardless of their industry background and they were prepared to wait for the right individual to fit the brief. The People Partner position required a candidate who is an excellent communicator, analytical with solid organisational skills, as well as a natural, collaborative leader with drive and determination.

The brief, salary, and benefits were discussed between Charlotte and our client, we needed to ensure that the salary on offer was in line with competitors and an attractive proposition in a candidate-driven market.

King Recruit advertised on LinkedIn and selected job boards and headhunted directly.

Five candidates were interviewed by the MD, three were then selected for a face-to-face interview, and two were then put forward to present to the Board.  The favoured candidate was then taken on a  Factory tour and met with all within the business, after this our candidate was again invited to discuss the culture and how they felt the fit was for them. Our candidate was then offered the role.

The Result

Our professional, who has 20+ years of HR experience and has previously worked in Business Partnering and L&D roles for a well-known global brand was successful and was thrilled to accept the position. Overall the process took two months from the initial brief to an accepted offer. Our client and candidate were willing to take their time during the recruitment process and wait out the notice period of three months, confirming just how important a culture fit was.
